Moodle Pilot Projects
In 2007, the Department began piloting the use of the Moodle open source course management system within MassONE. During this pilot phase, the use of Moodle is limited to professional development and trainings sponsored or funded by the Department. As a result, Moodle access is available only to people who are participating in those activities.
Online Professional Development in Curriculum and Technology
The goal of these grant-funded programs has been to use online professional development to improve teaching practices, promote student learning of the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and K-12 Instructional Technology Standards, and provide capacity-building solutions through the use MassONE and other innovative educational practices.
Summer Professional Development Institutes
Since 2009, the Department has offered summer institutes online through MassONE Moodle.
Massachusetts FOCUS Academy Professional Development
This initiative is designed to improve the outcomes for students with disabilities while increasing the retention of highly qualified personnel. The project focuses on middle and high school practitioners, administrators, and parents, with priority given to educators from targeted districts. MassONE Administrator Trainings
In 2008-2010, MassONE Administrators were invited to participate in a MassONE tutorial demonstrating the management uses of MassONE's tools and modeling effective policy implementations. Please contact Chris Hieber for more information at: chieber@doe.mass.edu.
